Greetings! I've got the beginnings of a headache forming, so I'm going to keep this super quick, though as always, feel free to email if you have any questions.
It's been yet another week of all SOL review with us wrapping up the last of the "mini SOL" quizzes. Since there wasn't enough time to go over all the quizzes in detail in all classes, I have a post scheduled to go up for each class this afternoon on Google Classroom with detailed keys for all the kids who have finished all five quizzes. Kids have been encouraged to study and review everything this weekend, sending me any questions they might have electronically (either via a Google Doc or as a message on Google Classroom) so I can answer them this weekend or prior to school starting Monday morning. As I've explained to the kids, once I start testing kids on Monday, I will not be able to answer most questions until all my math SOL tests have been given. I can direct them on how to find their answers through my previously posted digital resources and/or partner them with another student who would be able to answer, but I'm very limited on what I can say per SOL security rules.
To both aid students in their review as well as give them another extra credit opportunity, I posted a practice SOL test on PowerSchool earlier in the week; students can earn up to 20 points extra added to the summative category based on their score. This is available through this Sunday, May 12. There will be an additional opportunity made available on ALEKS after math SOL testing has been completed. I've also extended the Khan Academy into this weekend for all students still needing a little more time to get their required three hours of work completed; some students haven't even signed into Khan Academy during this assignment, so please help me by encouraging the kids to work on this assignment.
That should cover all the major highlights of the week but as always, please feel free to email if you have any questions. I hope everyone has a wonderful (though apparently rainy) weekend!
