Hello again! I'm Ms. Lambert, your child's math teacher this year and you can expect to hear from me at least once a week. You've already gotten a couple emails from me, but for those who might have missed them due to schedule changes, you can find my first welcome messages here and here. You'll always receive these weekly class updates at the end of the week (Fridays if time's on my side that week, but definitely by the end of the weekend). At the top you will always find links to our Daily Agenda, which outlines what we've done each day (also posted online here if you want to stay on track with us in real time) as well as links to the unit folders, which contain a digital copy of all assignments. Obviously all assignments are being completed through Canvas at this time, but digital copies are included on the Daily Agendas even for those we will eventually (I hope!) complete on paper in class when we return for in-person learning. I'll also email or call for all the obvious reasons (grades, missing assignments, any issues in class) or when we might have an event coming up. Of course, please always feel free to email anytime you have a question/concern of your own.
This week was predominately devoted to getting back into the swing of things, getting to know each other, and (as I'm sure you can imagine) troubleshooting tech problems. To help with these issues and to hopefully make this whole virtual learning thing a little easier for everyone, I've created several files for tech support that can be found here. I've already gone through these with the kids and I will continue to add to these files and update the kids as new issues pop up, but since I know many of the kids are probably turning to their parents and family members as if they've suddenly become the Geek Squad, I wanted you to have access to them as well. Please feel free to email, message, call, or text as you run across things. I might not be able to respond right away or even immediately have a solution, but I am more than happy to help and investigate a solution.
You can also keep up with my class throughout the year on my class Instagram and Twitter accounts. We'll get into the nitty gritty of our coursework next week, but feel free to peak ahead in the unit folders to see what all we will cover this year. There will be updates to the units (changes in existing assignments, new assignments, and possibly a reordering of units), but it will give you a general idea of the content for the year since we're working with the same curricula from last year.
I'm so excited for what the year will bring and we've had an amazing start! Again, please feel free to email at anytime if you have questions/concerns. Have a great weekend!
