Howdy! As seems to always be the case, there's just not enough time on the weekends (even with the extra day off on Friday) to get everything I need to finished, so I'm going to try to keep this update quick. We wrapped up our work on probability this week, including the Skittles lab, which the kids absolutely loved! Thank you to everyone who helped with this by sending donations. As previously mentioned, there was more than enough sent in to allow for future activities, so if your child didn't bring in permission, please send a note or email letting me know they have permission to partake in the future. The kids wrapped up the week and the unit with a quiz on the topic, but many need a little extra time tomorrow to finish it up, which they'll get at the start of each block.
We're moving into the first of many geometry units as soon as the kids finish working on the quiz. The first few units are rather short, so we'll be combining the first three into one assessment along with our term review test in a couple weeks. Speaking of the end of term, we've only got three weeks left, so please encourage the kids to take care of all their missing/incomplete work (look for the red notes for Missing or Incomplete in the far right column of the gradebook on ParentVUE). The last day any missing/incomplete assignments will be accepted is Friday, March 22. Aside from the final test, any other grades from the last week of term will go onto the final (fourth) term, in part because that unit will carry over after spring break but also to allow students who might miss time at the end of the week make-up time. This is all obviously a bit in the future, but I wanted everyone to be prepared since it seems this term has gone by really fast!
I'm going to wrap things up here but as always, feel free to email if you have any questions. I hope everyone has a great week!
