This page contains link to rescues that I found to be especially interesting in some way. The links lead to pages that discuss the rescues and generally have a video link.
Challenging
'Hip' - (Dec 2020) this kitty was stuck in the knot hole of a dead tree. I had to string a hi-line between two neighboring trees in order to rescue 'Hip' as the tree was unclimbable.
'Kitty' - (Jan 2018) this kitty was stuck 7 days, 70 feet up. She was way out on a limb, but I used a food bribe to lure her close to me.
'Snowball' - (Feb 2016) this kitty also required a hi-line strung between two trees to access as the target tree was unclimbable, and I also had to use a pole grab to reach the kitty.
'Jagger' - Nov 2020 - I had to climb above my tie-in point by about 30 feet using a climbing hook in order to reach this kitty.
'Poxie' - Feb 2020 - this is example of having to use a pole grab on a skittish cat who is out of grab range.
Stray (Mission Impossible) - Feb 2016 - this unknown kitty was stuck 8 days up a dead pine tree, at 90 ft. I climbed a neighboring tree, and snared the kitty from the other tree. The kitty escaped the loop when I lowered the rescue pole to the ground - I hope the kitty went back home.
Sentimental
'Jack' - Oct 2016 - this kitty holds the record as the heaviest kitty I have ever rescued at 24 lbs. He also complained bitterly when put in the bag.
'Edward' - June 2014 - this was the first 50+ foot rescue I did, and 'Edward' was a sweetie. His photo with me taken by his Mom serves as my Gmail photo to this day.
'George' - Sept 2014 - this young sweetie belonged to a special needs child who really, really needed for me to rescue her kitty. And I was happy that it all went well.
Non-Cat
"Bawlie" - Dec 2015, Coon Dog. This young coon dog was stuck 30 feet up a tree in a WMA near Amory (no video).
Racoon relocation - May 2016 - I was ask asked by Starkville Animal control to assist in relocating a mama coon and her two kits, we were successful.
