"Callie" is a sweet calico that belongs to a neighbor in Flowood, but who recently has been spending lot of time at Miss Tammy and Mr. George's house. They have grown quite attached to her, and were dismayed to find her stuck about 20 feet up a sweet gum tree in their back yard. A free-climbing rescue attempt by their adult son failed. Then Mr. George tried with a climbing tree stand (despite still recovering from open heart surgery) and was unable to reach her. Tammy called me, and I referred her to some Jackson area resources. However, they were all busy, so I drove down later in the afternoon. Callie watched carefully as I set a rope (and avoided a yellow jacket nest by the tree) and did not move from her perch. When I reached Callie, she calmly accepted my nab-N-bag. Back on the ground, Tammy took her inside for food and water. George and Tammy, many thanks for your generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society!
