A "Lucky" Stray is Rescued

(early April 2022)

Executive Summary

I received a text from Andrea of Weaver AL at about 10:00 pm on a Friday night, an unknown kitty was stuck in a neighbor's tree and rescue attempts had failed, could I help? I arrived at about 11:00 am the next day, and was met by Andrea and Pat (neighbor), who led me into Pat's backyard. The stray kitty (intact male) was stuck in some bushy limbs off of the main trunk of a large oak at about 30 feet, and looked pitiful. We did not know if it was a lost kitty or a feral, so I kept my fingers crossed that the kitty would be friendly as I climbed up. The kitty meowed weakly as I neared him, but did not struggle during the nab-N-bag. Except for an infected eye, the kitty looked to be in good condition. Back on the ground, I scanned for a microchip but no joy. Andrea took the kitty to her house for food and water. Later that evening, Andrea face timed me with the kitty snuggling in her lap. The kitty (now dubbed 'Lucky') was not feral, clearly he was used to human companionship. Andrea was planning a vet trip on Monday and a search for the owner.
