"Charlie" Caught in a Tree
(early December 2018)
Executive Summary
Executive Summary
"Charlie" was stuck 40 feet up a hardwood tree for four nights in Red Bay AL before his rescue. When I arrived, he was pacing back and forth on a long limb at 35 feet (red circle in photo), crying loudly. I thought it was going to be an easy up/down rescue. However, Charlie became spooked during rope installation. He found a downward sloping limb that branched from the main limb, and eased down that limb until it ran out, jumping the remaining 25 feet to the ground (red square). Charlie ran into some thick brush in the back of the yard, but emerged later that day for food and water. Barbara, many thanks for your donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society!
