"Skittles" - Captured by a Cedar Tree

(early Jan 2020)

Executive Summary

"Skittles" was stuck 35 up a cedar tree for three nights in Meridian MS before his rescue. He remained calm as I neared him, but I was concerned about the stoutness of the tree at the tip-top. He was just out of reach for an easy nab, so I tried to do a quick step-up-and-bag maneuver. I had to push his hind legs off of a limb, and my grip began slipping as I supported his full weight via the scruff nab. It became a race between pulling the bag down over him versus him slipping out of my grasp; a race that I barely won. I was relieved when I finally had Skittles and the bag fully secured. Justin and Shannon, many thanks for your generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society!
