"Fishstick" is Cold

(late Jan 2020)

Executive Summary

"Fishstick", a young indoor-only kitty, escaped outside only to climb 35 feet up a cedar tree in Starkville MS. He spent a freezing night with temps in the 20s before his mom Amanda was able to contact me the next morning. The tree was only 1.5 miles from my house, so I was able to get there by 8:00 am where I was met by Gayle, Amanda's mom, as Amanda was at work. Gayle led me to the cedar tree in the backyard that had captured Fishstick, who was about 35 feet up and crying loudly. He became excited when he saw us, walked out on a limb and nearly fell, and then went back to the trunk for the rest of the rope installation. As I climbed, Fishstick came down the tree a bit and walked right to me on a short limb, making for an easy nab-N-bag. Fishstick is a sweetheart, and I hope that he stays inside from now on!
