Lauren from Guntersville contacted me - one of her mother's rescue kitties 'Tac' had been stuck since the previous night. Her mother lived in Guntersville and was currently in the hospital and was worried about Tac. Lauren said the kitty was about 30-35 feet up and they had tried a 20 ft ladder but it was not long enough. I said that I would be out the following day if the kitty was still stuck. The next morning Lauren contacted me and said the kitty had come down some, but was still in the tree. I packed the truck and headed out. When I arrived, I immediately saw the large tree in the front yard with the ladder, but now Tac had come down to the limb closest to the ground and was only about 15 ft off the ground. Lauren met me and she told me how her mother had rescued Tac and his brother 'Tic' (Tic-Tac) when they were kittens and was extremely fond of them. I quickly set a rope in the tree, then climbed up to Tac's limb using the ladder, and cut off his escape further up the tree. Tac was not happy that I was in the tree and I expected him to jump down, but he never did. I slowly worked my way out to him, and offered him food bribes but he was not interested. I finally got close enough and made a quick a nab as Tac was turning around to go further out. He did not struggle and only complained a little about being stuffed into the bag. Back on the ground, Lauren took him to the porch for food, water and a reunion with 'Tic', who had been crying under tree the previous day, worried about his brother. All ended happily. Lauren, many thanks for your generous donation, I will use it for travel expenses!
