"Peach" is in a Pickle

(mid Feb 2020)

Executive Summary

Megan contacted me at noon on a Monday; "Peach" had been in a tree for 36 hours in Jackson, could I help? I explained that I was in Huntsville until Wednesday night, and pointed her to some local resources. Jonathan Sanch, who has done several kitty rescues in Jackson, tried a rescue that afternoon in heavy rain but Peach retreated out of reach, 50 feet up a long sloping branch and out over some distribution power lines. On Wednesday night Peach was still stuck, so I tried Thursday morning. Peach had come back to her original position at about 30 feet, but retreated immediately to her inaccessible location once I set a rope. I left a trap in the tree and hoped for the best. Johnny (Peach's guy) texted that night at 11:00 pm that Peach was in the trap! I retrieved Peach the next day, making for six nights in the tree. Johnny and Megan both hope that Peach stays on the ground from now on!
