Madison from Baldwyn MS texted me about 'Blayze', her inside kitty who escaped outside and was chased up a tree by a neighborhood kitty. Blayze had been stuck overnight and showed no signs of coming down. On arrival I was met by Madison and her father Marty, who led me to a hickory tree in the back yard. Blayze was about 35 feet up, and about 15 feet out from the main trunk on a long parallel limb. I put my rope on a limb that was just underneath Blayze's limb and climbed up. Madison hoped that Blayze would come to me since he liked people, but Blayze was too scared to move. Fortunately, there was a parallel limb just under Blaze's limb that allowed me to scoot out to him. Blayze yowled and clung desperately to the limb when I scruffed him, but I was finally able to wrestle him free and into the Kat Bag. Back on the ground, a relieved Madison took Blayze inside for food and water. This was the last rescue of the 2021, and I hope that kitties stay out of trees in 2022!
