It was a Saturday night, and I noticed a message on the Kat Fone. It was from Melissa, her kitty had been stuck for several days in Carthage MS, could I help? I called Melissa back, and arranged to be there the following day. Melissa had tried several sources of rescue help during the week, and had only discovered my contact info via a web search that evening.

When I arrived, Melissa and Haley (her daughter) led me to the tree holding Nim hostage. Nim had been missing since the previous Monday, and a neighbor's dog was the likely cause of Nim's predicament. Nim was only about 35 feet up and was crying loudly for help. It did not take long to establish a rope in the tree, during which time Melissa's husband and son (Tristan) joined us. I was soon at height with Nim, and she was happy to see me. She accepted some stroking with obvious happiness, and it was easy to scruff her and place her in the Kat Bag. I was soon back on the ground and handed Nim off to Melissa. The post-rescue picture below (courtesy of Melissa) shows a happy Nim snuggling in Melissa's lap.
