This is about two rescues done on the same day. "Hannah" messaged me late at night, her kitty "Frody" was stuck in a tree in Owens Crossroads AL (about 30 minutes south from me) and she needed help. I saw the message the next morning, contacted Hannah, and arrived mid morning. "Frody" was stuck about 40 feet up and crying for help. During the rope setup, she spooked and came down to about 20 feet. I was soon at height with Frody and she endured the nab/bag so that she could be reunited on the ground with her two sisters (all raised by Hannah when she found them as kittens). All ended happily!
When I got back in the truck, I noticed a voicemail from Jacob - their family kitty had been missing for two days and they finally located him in a tree in the woods back of their house. I was at the house in Meridianville (north of Huntsville) after about an hour, and Kelley led me to the tree where "Remy" was hanging out at about 25 ft. I established a rope, and was soon at height with Remy, but he had spooked and went way out on the limb. Jacob joined us, but Remy stubbornly ignored their coaxing and refused to come back to the trunk. I went to Plan B -- a food bribe which worked great - the minute that Remy got a whiff of the wet cat food he changed his mind and made his way back to the trunk. After an easy nab and bag, he was back on the ground safe and sound!
