Melissa from Madison/AL texted me - her six month old rescue kitty "Stitch" had been stuck for over 30 hours in a pine tree behind her house and she needed help. They rented a 26 ft ladder to try a rescue, but it was not quite high enough as Stitch was at 35 feet. It was already dark when Melissa contacted me, but from the photo it looked like a straight forward rescue so I did not wait for morning and drove over (good thing also, because rain was coming the next day!). Melissa led me to pine tree behind their wooden privacy fence, and Stitch was the tip-top of the smallish tree. I set a rope about five feet below Stitch and climbed up. I used a lanyard on Stitch's limb to pull myself up so that I could stand on my tie-in point, and Stitch was just in reach. He was a sweet kitty and ready to come down, so the nab-N-bag went smoothly. Back on the ground, Melissa took Stitch inside, with the message the he was relegated to being an inside kitty for the next couple of days. Melissa later send me short movie of Stitch making biscuits on a blankie, clearly relieved to be safe inside!
