Two Rescues  - Hazel, Unknown

(late Nov 2023)

This post is about two rescues.

I was contacted by Averi, her pregnant kitty Hazel had been stuck for two days in a tree in her front yard in Albertsville AL.  Averi had spent five hours in the pouring rain trying to coax Hazel down but was unsuccessful.  On arrival, I found Hazel to be about 25 ft ft up, looking very wet, and crying desperately for rescue. After setting the rope it took only seven minutes to climb up, nab a grateful Hazel, and climb back down.  Averi and Hazel had a sweet reunion on the ground, then went inside for some food, water and snuggling.

On the last day of November, I was contacted by James - he told me there was an unknown kitty stuck 60 feet up a pine tree in Huntsville AL only fifteen minutes from my house.  When I arrived, James showed me the kitty - he had not exaggerated, the kitty was really high up. The kitty had only been stuck since the morning, and several neighbors were concerned about the kitty.  A short while  later, Joe (the homeowner) and his grand daughter arrived. Joe did not know who owned the kitty.  However,  James and his wife said that they would care for it.  After setting a rope, I climbed up to the kitty, who was extremely scared but glad to see me.  After an easy nab, I was soon back on the ground, and handed over the kitty to James and his wife.  There was no collar on the kitty who appeared only about 4 months old, so hopefully the kitty will settle into its new home and stay out of trees.
