Tucker, a high school football player from Pontotoc, has a special friend named "Farrah" who he rescued as a kitten from a lake. However, Farrah, a mostly inside kitty, had escaped outside and had been stuck 30 feet up a large oak for four days. I was met on arrival by a large rescue party - Tucker, parents (Jeremey and Teresa), and Scotty (grandfather), all willing to help rescue Farrah. I put a rope above Farrah's position, and began climbing. Farrah was facing away from me as I climbed and did not see me until I reached her. Farrah's reaction was instantaneous - she did not like this strange person! Luckily, I was a little above her when she saw me, so she darted down the tree and out on a limb. I climbed down to her limb and tried a pole grab while everyone else held a tarp underneath her. Farrah dodged the pole grab, fell into the tarp, jumped out, and headed for the house with Tucker in hot pursuit. After a couple of comedic runs around the house, Tucker was finally able to corral Farrah and bring her inside. All were happy! Tucker, many thanks for your generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society!
