After the stray kitty rescue, I rescued "Bob", who had been stuck 30 feet up a tree in Saltillo MS. Bob made the rescue a breeze by being calm and cooperative. David, many thanks for your very generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society!
After the kitten rescue, I went back to the office. I still had the truck packed with equipment as I did not bother to unload it. About mid-afternoon, the Kat Fone meowed -- it was David from Saltillo - his inside kitty had escaped outside and had been stuck in a tree for two days, could I help? I said that I would be there later afternoon. When I arrived, David led me to a large oak tree in the front yard -- "Bob" (short for "Bobcat") was calmly perched in a large union at about 30 feet. The tree had many good anchor points above him, and after several tries, I was able to install a climbing line. Bob watched everything with interest and showed no signs of distress. David said that Bob played with their dogs so this kitty was not easily startled. I started climbing and was soon at height with Bob. I did not bother with kitty treats as he readily accepted my stroking his chin and ears. Bob yowled a bit when I put him in the Kat bag, but otherwise did not struggle. I was soon back on the ground and handed him off to David. A post-rescue picture is below; Bob was a reluctant participant!
