Dakota texted me - her inside-only girl kitty "Mo" had escaped outside and was stuck up a tree near Albertsville AL. When I arrived the next morning Dakota led me through a back pasture to a pine tree where Mo was hanging out at 60 feet. The problem was that the pine tree was in a brush thicket on the other side of a barbed wire fence, so it took a while to lug my equipment to the tree. There were a few trash trees around the pine, making for a difficult throw bag shot but I got lucky and nailed a good tie-in spot on the second try. During rope setup, I made a lot of racket in the tree with limbs shaking and whatnot, but this did not faze Mo, she retreated a bit out on her limb and watched the action. This was a good sign, other kitties would have gotten scared and bolted up higher. When I reached her position, Mo was clearly excited to see me - she keep coming up to me, rubbing on the limb, retreating back out, then coming back in. I put my Kat-bag on my hand, positioned myself better and soon had Mo in the bag. She made no complaints on the ride down and was soon safe back inside. Dakota, many thanks for your generous donation which will go to a local animal shelter in Huntsville.
