A "Tig" in Trouble

(early June 2023)

Executive Summary

Jessica from Lexington AL texted me that she needed help - her Mom's one year old kitty 'Tig' had been stuck for two days up a tree and they could not coax him down.  I packed up and arrived around 6:00 pm - Jessica led down a road to a tree on their property where Tig was hanging out.  Tig's backstory was that Jessica rescued a pregnant stray (a Siamese mix) and he was one of the kittens that her mom kept while Jessica kept the mom.  Both the mom and Tig were natural bob tails which is fairly rare.  I put a rope above Tig at about 50 feet. During the rope setup, we became concerned when Tig when further up the tree but he just wanted to play with my rope that was nearby.  I started climbing and was soon at height with Tig.   He was impatient for  a rescue so once I donned my cat bag it was easy to drag him into my lap. I gave him a few scritches before putting him into the bag, and he never complained. Back on the ground, Jessica let him out and he began inspecting all of the equipment.  Tig also eagerly wolfed down food that Jessic had brought. Before I left, Tig went belly up in front of me asking for some tummy rubs! An easy-peasy rescue where all ended happily.  Jessica, many thanks for your generous donation to Lovable Feline Rescue of North Alabama!
