"Bella" Goes WAy UP
(late September 2021)
Executive Summary
Nancy called me about "Bella", a mostly inside Siamese who had escaped outside and was now way up a tree behind their house in Pittsboro MS. When I arrived, Nancy and children led me to a wooded area directly behind the house, where we could hear Bella crying way up in the air. It took a while, but I finally spotted Bella out on a limb of a huge spreading oak tree at about 70 feet. I put a rope at about 55 feet, and started up. When I got to the tie-in point, I could see that Bella was on a neighboring stem, about 15 feet up and out from me. I used my extendable boat hook to place a lanyard on a limb directly over me that was about at Bella's height and continued up. Bella was happy to see me, and kept rubbing her head on the limb and kneading her paws. When I about even with Bella's stem, I pulled myself over, anchored myself, and put the Kat Bag on my hand. Bella was impatient, complaining that I was taking too long. I was finally ready, and made an easy Nab-N-Grab of Bella. Back on the ground, Nancy took Bella inside for food and water. I was happy that Bella was cooperative, as it would have been much more difficult if Bella had been scared of me. Nancy, many thanks for your generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society!
