"Tom" - A Quick Rescue

This is a quick report - MeowMax (Max G from Athens) was contacted about a stuck kitty in Madison, but was out of town so he forwarded the request to me. Payton contacted me - his kitty "Tom" had been stuck for about 30 hours up a tree in his backyard in Madison. When I arrived, Payton was still on the way home from work, so I hauled my equipment out to the tree where Tom (a fat orange boy) was hanging out at about 30 ft. Tom was silent, which is a bad sign - that typically means the kitty is skittish. I decided to hang tight until Payton arrived about 15 minutes later. I shot my throwbag into the tree, which spooked Tom, and he decided that it was time to exit the tree. He scooted butt-first down the tree, yowling all the way. Payton grabbed him once Tom was close enough, and rushed him inside.  All ended well - I never complain when kitties come down on their own!
