I noticed a recent voice mail on my phone about mid-afternoon, and it was from Victoria in Pontotoc - her 1-year old rescue kitty, "Smokey" had been stuck 24+ hours up a tree in a neighbor's yard, help! When I arrived, Victoria led me to the neighbor's back yard where Smokey was hanging out, about 20 feet up a large oak, crying his heart out. He had somehow ventured into the yard and one of the neighbor's dogs took issue to this and chased him up the tree. I quickly set a rope above Smokey and climbed up to him. Smokey was happy to see me making for an easy nab-N-bag. A relieved Victoria took charge of him back on the ground and carried him home. Victoria, many thanks for your generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society! As per the times that we live in, all maintained proper social distancing during the rescue!
