"SHEBA" - Four Nights in a Tree

(early November 2024)

Toni contacted me - her three-month inside-only kitty "Sheba" escaped outside and had been stuck for three nights in a tree in the neighbors back yard - help!  I arrived the next morning, and Toni led me to a large hardwood that was just across a chain link fence in the neighbors yard. The limbs were overhanging Toni's yard and Sheba was hanging out at the end of one at about 30 feet. I was able to set a rope high above Sheba's limb where it hung about 10 feet away from Sheba's position. I climbed up and was soon sitting on Sheba's limb, and spent a long time sweet talking and trying food bribes. Even though she did not seem overly alarmed about me, it was clear that she was not going to come to me. Fortunately there was a parallel limb under Sheba's limb, making it easy for me to slowly walk out to her. She started to retreat but could not go very far until she ran out of limb and I was able to make the Nab-N-Grab with no problem. She was quiet going into the bag and was soon reunited back with Toni on the ground.
