I was contacted by Misty about her 7-month old kitty Salem, who had escaped outside and was stuck overnight in a pine tree near Forest MS. When I arrived, I was met by Misty and George (local maintenance man for the park) who helped carry gear to the pine tree that was holding Salem prisoner. Salem was about 25 feet up, going back and forth on a long limb, crying for a rescue. During rope setup, Salem played with the throw line and was unconcerned about what was happening in her tree. Salem's mommy cat was also present, investigating my gear and concerned about Salem being stuck in the tree. Salem waited patiently for me to reach her, and went into the cat bag with no complaints. Back on the ground, Misty brought Salem inside for food and water. Hopefully, Salem will stay out of trees in the future! Misty and George, thanks for helping lug equipment to/from the tree.
