I had rescued Ben from Guntersville last April, after he escaped outside and was stuck a couple of nights up a tree. Doris called, and Ben was in the same situation, a little higher this time. I arrived the next day and Doris led me to his tree, where he was crying for help at 25 ft. I put a rope underneath him and climbed up. Ben did not move; he really wanted a rescue. I was underneath Ben and he was out of easy grab range. I put a lanyard around the trunk at my tie-in point, stepped up, and using the lanyard on my D-rings to steady myself, made the grab. Ben was cooperative, but still had to be peeled off the limb. Back on the ground, Doris took Ben inside for food, water, rest and loving!
