"Sam" The Sweetie

(late March 2021)

Executive Summary

Michelle contacted me late in the evening - one of her family's bottle-fed rescue kitties, a 1.5 year-old yellow boy named Sam, had been stuck outside their home in Fulton since the previous day, could I help? I went out the next day and met Michelle and other family members at the tree in the front yard. Sam was only about 20 feet up, just out of ladder range, and had stubbornly refused to come down or jump into the crate/box they hauled up using some lightweight cord. Sam moved about some long horizontal limbs while I set my rope. After ascending, Sam came right to me and allowed me to haul him into my lap. Sam purred as I loved on him, but complained when I moved him into the cat bag. Back on the ground, Sam was taken to the house for food/water and to reunite with his siblings. One of the family's playful dogs had chased him up the tree, hopefully that will not be repeated!
