Shannon texted me that 'Skittles' was stuck again. I rescued Skittles from a cedar tree across the street from his house in January 2020. This time, he was stuck in a Magnolia tree across the street, about 20 feet up. Skittles was cooperative in the previous rescue, so I figured this would be an easy rescue. When I reached the tree, Skittles eyed me nervously from his perch. Setting the rope spooked Skittles, and he retreated far out on a limb. He was only about 15 feet off the ground at this point, and both Shannon and myself encouraged him to jump down. He refused until I ascended the rope -- he jumped to the ground and retreated under a nearby house. He emerged for food and water once I packed up and left. Shannon, many thanks for your generous donation to the Oktibbeha County Humane Society! As per the times that we live in, all maintained proper social distancing during the rescue!
