"Jon" Jumps Down

Executive Summary

Nicole from Brandon MS contacted me about Jon, a 2 year old black kitty that had been stuck overnight in a tree near her home. When I arrived, Nicole led me across the street to a young oak tree where Jon was hanging about at about 25 ft, crying for help. When I set a rope above him, Jon spooked and went out on the edge of the limb, looking towards the ground. I had Nicole stand underneath him with my large net, while I climbed up to Jon's limb. Jon jump down to the next limb about five feet below him, then started eyeing the ground. Jon gathered himself, then jumped down, aiming for the net that Nicole was holding. Jon hit the side of the net on the way down, which broke his fall. When he hit the ground, he took off for the house, and showed up a couple of hours later for food and water.
