Buffy The Tree Slayer (Not)

My good friend and fellow cat rescuer, MeowMax, contacted me about a kitty stuck two nights in Gurley AL. Max was not going to be able to get to the tree until after work, and darkness would make climbing the vine-covered, sketchy tree a challenge .  Being a layabout, my schedule is more lax, so I was able to arrive at the tree around noon.  I was met by Gayle and her husband, who had put a ladder against the tree but 'Buffy' was still a good 20 feet higher than the top of the ladder.  While we were talking, Buffy came down to only about 30 feet, so I climbed the ladder and then used lanyards to reach him.  Buffy was a sweetheart, allowing me to get some scritches in before I bagged him. He was not happy in the bag, but was soon back on the ground and safely inside.  Gayle, many thanks for your generous donation to Lovable Feline Rescue of North Alabama!
