"Ben" Went OUtside

(early Apr 2024)

Doris called late one afternoon - her rescue kitty "Ben" had escaped outside near Guntersville AL and had been up a tree since the previous day, could I help?  Doris had to leave for work, so I arranged to drive out the next day. When I arrived,  Doris led me to a hardwood in the backyard where Ben was hanging out at 25 ft.  When I put the rope above him, Ben spooked and came down to about 15 ft.  Being an inside-only kitty, I was glad that he did not come all the way down as he probably would have escaped - being in the tree would make it easier for me to corral him.  I started climbing, and he watched me with interest. When I neared Ben, I offered him a kitty treat but he was not interested.  Ben cooperated with the Nab-N-Bag and was soon back on the ground with Doris, where he was taken back inside to safety.  I love happy endings!
