"Kitty" Takes a Jump

(late June 2021)

Executive Summary

Samantha from Meridian contacted me about 'Kitty', a young stray they had been feeding. The kitty had been stuck up a pine tree for three days and their rescue attempts had failed. When I arrived, Kitty was only about 25 feet up a pine tree and a little ways out from the trunk. She watched the rope setup with interest, but was silent throughout. As I climbed up, her eyes grew bigger and bigger and I could tell she was not going to let me get close. When I reached her limb, Kitty decided that it was time to leave, so she went out to the end of the limb, and jumped down to the soft ground. She disappeared around the edge of the house, but showed up for her regular feeding that night. She was adopted by an adult nephew and went off to her forever home, so all ended happily.
