A beautiful summer's day saw a lower than usual turnout for the year of 8, with Patrick, MIke (Derek's son), John, David (a new rider), Norman, Derek, Brian and Howard. Derek was on his new E bike which hea had bought through ebay as a kit of parts (which with its balloon tyres looked more akin to a motorbike than a standard bicycle). The duty on parts is 6% whereas it is 20% on assembled E bikes. It was decided to head south to Birstall via Mucklin Wood Swithland and Rothley, cutting down to Wanlip to get to the tea room rather then the more usual route wending its way through the housing estates in Birstall. The riders enjoyed the modestly priced (but excellent - particularly the home baked cake) refreshments before returning via Watermead Park, Sileby and Mountsorrel, returning to Loughborough just after noon.

David leads the group away from Swithland.
