After a bright start the sky clouded over for the start of the ride and it remained overcast all morning. Ray, Laurie, Chris, Stuart and John decided to head to Barrow Boats for tea and coffee via Swithland Reservoir where Chris took time out to check on the bird population with some bird spotters. After dropping down into Quorn the riders took the recently improved "slabs" cycle/foot path into Barrow for tea and cakes at Barrow Boats besides the canal.
