A group of five, Ray,Patrick, Howard, Jerry and Derek, assembled at the Outwoods Drive roundabout. A bit overcast but a sunny outlook was forecast. Ray suggested Rothley station for a coffee stop which was agreed, this being a new venue for some. The group took the usual route past Beaumanor Hall to Rothley via Swithland. By this time the sun had come out and refreshments were enjoyed at the station. We were treated to the sight of steam engines on their way to and from Leicester. The group then set off back to Loughborough retracing part of the route since Derek had spotted apples being given away – a chance not to be missed! Then it was back home via Quorn. A most enjoyable day out.
