A lovely summers morning saw Terry, Ray, Patrick, Isobel and John gather at the Outwoods roundabout. It was decided to try an unvisited tea room - Oakley Grange Farm, Shepshed Road, Hathern. The riders set out north via the Epinal Way cycle path to follow Sustrans Route 6 across Garendon Park to Shepshed and then on to the tea room. Unfortunately it was found on arrival that they are closed on Wednesdays. Fortunately there was an contingency tea room just over a mile further on at Manor Farm, Long Whatton. The riders enjoyed some excellent refreshment which included tea made with loose tea leaves, requiring the use of a strainer.
The riders returned via Shepshed taking the cycle path alongside Ashby Road and arriving back in Loughborough in good time for lunch.
