The average age of the group dropped by at least 40 years when Sadie, Heather and Isobel joined the ride that set out on a sunny morning with cloud building. Ray set a steady pace to Daisy's tea room at Rothley. After refreshment the riders continued back through Rothley and Swithland to Woodhouse, where Stuart, Sadie, Heather, Isobel and John decided to go left and climb up Beacon Road past the entrance to Beacon Park. The first time that Heather had completed this challenging climb, while Ray and Chris continued back to Loughborough past Mucklin Wood.
