A very mild overcast day awaited Anne, Terry, Howard, Patrick, Jerry, Stuart and John. Rather then go through Loughborough the riders would first go south to cross the Soar at Barrow, then cycling north up the river valley to Stanford on Soar. Here the riders climbed Leake Lane and then rode via West Leake, Hungary Lane, Sutton Bonnington to the village shop at Normanton on Soar for refreshments. The weather was so mild that the riders were able to sit outside. It was then a short ride over Fox Hill back to Loughborough.
