Terry, Howard and Ray on Meadow Lane

It was a beautiful sunny summer morning when Ray, John, Anne, Terry and Howard gathered at Outwoods Drive. Unfortunately Anne found that she had a rapidly deflating tyre and decided that discretion was the better part of valour and decided to return home. The remainder of the group decided to head out to a new tea place, the Gallery Cafe in Sutton Bonnington. Unfortunately John had forgotten to check their opening hours and it turned out that they only open Thursday to Sunday 11am - 6pm. The riders decided to head back to the Village Shop cafe in Normanton on Soar with Ray deciding to return via Zouch as he needed to get home early. Anne joined the group having got out the car. After the usual excellent refreshments in Normanton, Terry, John and Howard returned via Cotes, Walton and Barrow, exploring some little used routes in Barrow due to the bridge over the railway being closed after its near collapse. Howard, who was on this new electric assist bicycle, then taking a detour over Beacon Hill in an attempt to run down his battery.
