(Report by Eric). As the A team headed of to the Luxuries afforded by Birstall community centre A. N. OTHER Team followed our hero and leader Howard into the wilds of Leicestershire. Following were Jeff, Derek, Marcus, Pat, Eric, Brian, and our new member John, resplendent on a recumbent, which drew much interest and admiration from the rest of the crew. Heading south down the A6 we turned right at Quorn, past The Manor and into Old Woodhouse. At the church we turn left and went down School Lane and Brand Lane to Swithland. Passing the reservoir we crossed Swithland Lane and came down The Ridings turning right onto The Ridgeway in case anyone wanted to do any house hunting. At the end we turned left onto Westfield Lane and on to our coffee stop at Rothley Court. As we had taken a step up from usual half time venue we had to sneek past the reception in case we were slung out for being incorrectly attired.

Refreshed with much coffee and some cake we departed back up the Ridings and turning right onto Swithland lane and then onto Wood Lane we had fun whizzing downhill past Quorn Grange and back to the A6. Thankfully the strong southerly wind was at our backs on our return to Loughborough.

Phil has suggested a Christmas Lunch for December and the idea has been met with enthusiasm. As venues are often already booked close to Christmas, it is proposed that this should be held on 13th December. The aim would be to complete the ride by noon and suggested venue (so far) are The Priory, Rothley Court, The Moon and Bell in town or the manor house in Quorn. Those interested can discuss this tomorrow.

(Report by John) While the larger B team had set off first, the smaller A team of Ian, Terry, Phil, Lyn, Clyde, Patrick and John also headed up wind but continued through Quorn and turned right onto Wood Lane, climbing up past the Quarry and along The Ridings to Rothley. From here they wended their way along the A6 and through Birstall to the Methodist Church Hall in Birstall for refreshments. It turned out that it had been a good idea to split the groups as they almost ran out of cake after we had made our purchases. The riders then returned via Watermead Park and Sileby.
