A beautiful May day, bringing out comments about the "Darling Buds of May" greeted Ray, Stuart and John.

The group headed south taking the track to Beaumanor where the last of the bluebells could be seen in Mucklin Wood. Then on to Barrow via Quorn for tea and cakes at the Barrow Boating Tea shop alongside the canal.

After a pleasant half hour, sitting in the sun, the riders headed back along the east bank of the Soar to Stanford on Soar, where Stuart split off to head for home leaving Ray and John to return to Loughborough via Meadow Lane, where the meadows were covered in a carpet of buttercups, arriving back in good time for lunch.
