Howard, David, Myles, Brian, John, Clyde, Patrick and Lyn gathered on a rather damp, cool and overcast morning despite the heavey rain that had fallen for the last two days and forecast for the afternoon. As there was a possibility of flooding it was decided to head for higher country and the riders headed out through Shepshed and Belton towards Breedon before turning and cycling east to the Village Shop in Long Whatton for refreshments. The proprietor found a couple of extra seats, including a rather comfortable camping seat for David, so that the whole party could sit in doors. The riders then returned via Hathern.
