After the severe weather of recent weeks the riders were greeted by a rather blustery but mild and sunny morning, making riding very pleasant. As the Soar Valley was severely flooded following the melting snow and rain, it was decided to proceed to Sileby, crossing the Soar at Barrow. The smell of frying bacon greeted the riders at the Cafe in Sileby, but none gave way to temptation and only more modest fare was consumed. This provided fuel for the somewhat hilly ride back to Loughborough via Seagrave and Walton on the Wolds. The riders were back in Loughborough by noon.
