The rain had just desisted but a strong cold west wind continued to blow as Lyn, Eric, Clyde, new rider David, Pat, Marcus, Howard, Jeff, Patrick, Mike, John and Brian gathered at Outwoods Drive. It was decided to head upwind to Beth’s Kitchen at Breedon Priory Garden Centre, Breedon on the Hill. The group set out through the University, Shepshed, Belton and Tonge and made good headway to arrive before 11am for refreshments. After some excellent cakes the riders proved somewhat reluctant to abandon their conversations and the warmth of the tea room. However once on the road they were able to enjoy sunshine and a tail wind that pushed them rapidly east to Hathern via Diseworth and Long Whatton. The riders were back in Loughborough just after noon.
