Ray, Patrick, Howard and John arrived at Outwood rounabout on a pleasant June morning and decided to head to Daisy's Tea Room outside Rothley for refreshment. On arrival they found the tea room layout had changed but the contents were as good as ever. It was decided to return via Rothley and Swithland and, since they were well up on time they decided to stop off at Rothley Manor to take a look at the monument commemorating the work undertaken there by Wilberforce and Babbington resulting in the abolition of the British slave trade. Then it was back to Loughborough, but via a more circuitous route than normal, taking the new cycle track from Mucklin Wood to Woodthorpe.
