The weather did not turn out to be quite as good as had been forecast a few days before. Ray, Derek, Terry, Patrick and John set out on an overcast morning across Garendon Park and then on via Tickow Lane to Oaks in Charnwood and the Monastery Tea Rooms. Patrick had a "slow" puncture that turned into a "fast" one and chose to let the rest of the group proceed whilst he repaired it, rejoining the group for refreshments that were taken at the Monastery Tea Room.

After their repast the riders emerged into bright sunshine for the return to Loughborough. Ray and Patrick took the quick route home past the Priory, whilst Derek, Terry and John chose to return via Beacon Hll.
