A very murky and damp day awaited Lynn, Eric, Patrick, Graham, Howard, Clyde and John. It was decided to forgo the pleasure of the mud on the track out past Mucklin Wood and instead head down the old A6 and across to Barrow to take the Salt Way out into the Wolds. The riders found Melton Road closed just outside Barrow where a new housing estate is going in and had to divert onto the path near Fishpool Brook taking Branston Avenue to Fishpool Way to rejoin Melton Road. The riders turned off Paudy Lane onto Berrycott Lane to head for Seagrave. The had been rumours of a tea shop opening next to the Whitehorse Pub, but it turned out they only offered massages. The riders decided their stomachs needed refreshment with food and drink and so continued to Sileby with the intention of taking refreshments at the Green Place. However it turned out this was closed for the winter and so the riders moved 100 yards north for refreshment in the warmth of Cafe 19. The riders then returned to Loughborough via Mountsorrel.
