It was a real "Darling Buds of May" day when Anne, Terry, Howard, Derek, Ray and John gathered at Outwoods Drive. The sun shone and the May blossom was abundant as the riders crossed Garendon Park, circumnavigating Shephed via Tickow Lane, climbing up into Charnwood Forest via Charley Road. The original intended destination had been the Monastery Tea Room, but passing along Charley Road the riders noticed a sign saying tea room at Lubcloud Farm. After a quick consultation it was decided to try out this new venue, which it turned out had only been open for one week. After a pleasant interlude partaking of tea and cakes seated in the farm house window, the riders returned to Loughborough with Howard, Anne, Terry and John choosing to ride back over Beacon Hill.
