On a rather cool day for July, Ray, Terry, John, Keith, Patrick and Derek decided to try a different tea room in Kegworth. After negotiating numerous roadworks crossing Loughborough the riders set out via Meadow Lane down the east bank of the Soar to Kegworth. Here they discovered there were two tea place that hadn't been tried and it was decided after some debate to sit out in the sun at the tables of Oaklands Bakery. After a good repast Terry & John decided to return via Whatton Road while the other riders returned via the A6. Coincidentally, the faster pace of John and Terry resulsted in both groups arriving in Hathern at the same time and continued home as one group. Those returning via the cycle track under the A6 alongside the Black Brook were somewhat puzzled as to why 2 large tree trunks had been used to totally block the track.
