A cool (for June) and very blustery morning saw Phil, Rosalind, Rob, Clyde, Derek, Lyn & John set off for Bradgate Park. The ride past Mucklin Wood went smoothly but at the Beaumanor end a truck had got stuck against another vehicle and there were queues of cars on either side. Thankfully, as cyclists we were able to dismount and squeeze past on the verge. Having overcome this obstacle the riders continued via Swithland and through Bradgate Park (into the wind) to sample the excellent cakes at the Jade Tea Rooms. The return through the park was very quick with the riders barely needing to pedal because of the tail wind. The group then made its way back to Loughborough via Cropston, Rothley Station, Mountsorrel and Quorn.
